5-Steps to learn Korean hot “Velvet Eyebrows”!

Like the search for glowy skin and glossy hair, the pursuit of the perfect set of brows is up there as one of life’s greatest beauty missions and we always find ourselves on the hunt for new products and trends. You can understand our excitement then, when we noticed a new brow trend starting in Korea – the au-natural-looking boy brow.

The boy brow has recently blown up on social media with celebrities such as Blackpink’s Jennie and Son Ye-Jin and Suzy Bae as fans. Feathery, but still structured, the boy brow is the au natural look but amped-up one step further with three-dimensional detailing rather than just a straight-across swash of colour. The paradox of the natural-looking boy brow, however, is that it takes a few steps to achieve. The good news is though, is that whether you have full or sparse brows, everyone can copy this look – here’s how.

How To Get The Boy Brow

Step 1:

First, clean up the eyebrow area by trimming or plucking any rogue hairs and then smooth over them with an eyebrow brush to ensure that they are all uniform and neat. You can also dust a light coating of setting powder around the edges to ensure they are more defined.

Step 2:

Take an angled brow brush and eyeshadow and outline your brows by drawing a line underneath your brow and fill in any sparse areas with small hair-like flicks.

Step 3:

Next, go in with a clear brow setting gel and brush the small mascara-like tip through them to soften any lines and create a more natural, fluffy look.

Step 4:

Then, take a gel brow liner to define the shape of your brows. Try to not fill in the inside corners of your brows too much, or make the endpoints too harsh.

Step 5:

To finish, go in with a dark brow mascara and gently sweep it across the brows, which will give them a three-dimensional, fuller and thicker-looking effect.
